October Empties!

October just seemed to fly by! We are into November and I am using up products faster than I ever have before! It is exciting and interesting all at the same time. I am using up a lot of old products and perfumes, and it is nice to get them out of my stash. Anyone else making progress or effort of older items?

Victoria’s Secret Bombshells in Bloom Body Mist: I really love this scent! It is sweet and slightly floral and it last long on my skin and hair. I have a full bottle of this in a perfume, so I will not be without it.

Ahhh Sugar Sugar Clarify This Invigorating Shampoo Scrub: This was an interesting product to use and the first time I have used a product like this before. I don’t need a product like this, but it was fun to use! It smelled amazing and had huge salt crystals that really scrubbed your scalp. I won’t be repurchasing this, simply because I do not need a product like this.

EVA NYC Soften Up Conditioner: I really did not enjoy this conditioner. It did nothing for my hair and I do not recommend this product to anyone. I do not even know how you could call this a conditioner. I will not be repurchasing.

The Dirty Goat 1975 Deep Conditioning Hair Mask: I very much enjoyed this product! I posted a full review of it here. I would not repurchase this, not because I do not like the product, but because of the size and price. I explain it all in my review, so please check it out!

Ahhh Sugar Sugar Don’t Be A Turkey Bath Frosting: I love bath frostings and it was nice to use this and get it out of my stash, as it was one of my older frostings. This was scented in fresh pears, cranberries, and vanilla butter. This was a very interesting scent combination and I really grew to love it.

Colorado Earth Scents: I used up a clamshell in peach fizz. I love and use soy wax and this is a brand that I have used for a couple years now. Peach Fizz was a great scent. It was sweet, without being too sweet, fizzy, and peachy. I highly recommend this company and I will be repurchasing again.

Ahhh Sugar Sugar Petty Betty Whipped Meringue: This scent really grew on me, and I enjoyed it a lot. I got this during a sale which is a great time to try different scents. I love these whipped meringues and I will always continue to repurchase them and recommend them.

Bath Bakes Fudge de Leche Bath Cream: This straight up smells like decadent fudge and it was so luxurious to use in the shower. This is one of the first products that my partner has actually really enjoyed using. I need to make another order here soon.

Victoria’s Secret Heavenly Body Mist: I really grew to love this scent! At first, I really hated it but I got it in a Christmas gift and the more I wore it, the more I grew to love it. It’s musky while still being light. I think it is one of the perfect scents for traveling because it is good for day and night.

Victoria’s Secret Noir Tease: I used to love this scent several years ago, but I have grown out of it. I am happy to see this go and I do not think I will be repurchasing this in the future.

Ahhh Sugar Sugar Zucchini Bread Stressel Frozen Custard: I REALLY love these products. They are super moisturizing and they last longer than their whipped meringues. I wish they were more readily available during their restocks. I will continue to repurchase these items.

D3 Vitamins: I like to share what vitamins I use up so people can see that a whole bottle of vitamins have been used. I take Vitamin D with my Vitamin C. It helps your body to absorb Vitamin C better and more fully.

I feel pretty successful this month with the amount of products I used up, and particularly with moving the older or less used items out of my stash. It is time for the older body mists to finally be finished up and moved out. I have better perfume to use and love! I am happy with where I am at, and I hope you had a successful month to! If you have any questions about any of the products listed, don’t hesitate to ask! Thank you for being here and reading my delightful ramblings!

The Dirty Goat: 1975 Deep Conditioning Hair Mask

I love hair masks! I routinely use them in place of conditioner throughout the week and they work wonders for my hair. I have had my eye on The Dirty Goat’s hair mask for some time now, and rave review after rave review continued to peek my interest. I was lucky enough to pick one up off of a destash page for a discounted price so that I could give it a try. Man, does it hold up to all the rave or what!

This hair mask is thick and creamy, which is just what you want to see in a hair mask. It spreads easily throughout the hair to evenly coat all your strands. It rinses out well and does not leave your hair greasy, but silky smooth and tangle free. My hair becomes very difficult to work with once wet, which is why I love and use hair masks. This hair mask allows me to work a brush through my hair or even let it air dry without becoming a frizzy mess. This product is one that would easily help dry and damaged hair becomes more manageable and smooth, which is the dream.

The 1975 scent has scent notes of mandarin, casis, amber, pink jasmine, vanilla and tonka beans. To my nose, I pick up a woodsy amber scent that is elevated by the jasmine and vanilla. This is not a scent I would normally go for, but I really enjoy it in this format. It perfumes the hair nicely, but is not overpowering, so anything you put on afterwards will still shine.

I very much enjoyed this hair mask, and I can see now why everyone goes crazy for it. The one thing that would keep me from repurchasing this is the price. It is $20 for 5oz of product. I have hair down to my butt and I use a lot of conditioner. For me personally, I cannot justify this as a regular purchase. For others who maybe use hair masks as the treat they are and are not a savage with them like me, I could totally see this being more reasonable.

Have you tried this product? What other products would you like to see me review on here? Let me know in the comment section! As always, thank you for being here and reading my delightful ramblings.

The Dirty Goat Sulfate Free Shampoo and Body Wash

I have been very interested in trying some of The Dirty Goat hair care products for some time now, and I was lucky enough to receive one of her sulfate free Shampoo and Body Wash in a recent mystery bag. I have been using this product on and off for a few weeks, and wanted to share my thoughts and experiences on this product.

This is scented in Bad At Love, which is a new to me scent and one that I really enjoy. It has scent notes of white washed woods, citrus leaves, vetiver, and tonka beans. It is a woodsy almost musky scent that is lifted by the citrus and sweetness of the tonka. Erica makes this product in all types of scents though, so if this scent is not for you don’t fret!

My first reaction to this product is that it is very liquidy, almost surprisingly so. Most shampoos and body washes have a level of thickness to them that this product is missing. I am not sure if that is because it is sulfate free or if that is just the formulation of Erica’s recipe. Either way, it is not a deal breaker for me and the product, just an observation.

I struggled to run this shampoo through my hair. It is like the product did not want to move from the one spot that it was put on my head and so I felt like I had to use a lot of product to get it to move throughout my hair enough for it is cover the majority of my head. This shampoo did cleanse my hair well, and did not leave my hair feeling overly dry or tangly like other sulfate free shampoos do, but it just did not seem to want to move through my hair. It was an odd experience, and one that I do not remember experiencing before with other shampoos. This could totally be user error, and I would love any thoughts you have on this product or others like it.

I have not tried this as a body wash, but I imagine that it would work just fine! It gives a nice cleansing experience. It is my understanding that this product is typically used as a shampoo, and not as a body wash, which is why I went the route of shampoo first.

I think this was a great dip into The Dirty Goat’s hair care products, and I am excited to continue to explore what Erica and her brand has to offer. The next product I am very interested in trying her sea salt shampoo! Have you tried this shampoo? What do you think? Tell me all your thoughts in the comments below! Thank you for reading my delightful ramblings.

September Box of Sugar: If You’ve Got It, Haunt It

Halloween is an exciting time in the bath and body world! So many new releases and products to keep up with, it is overwhelming! Ahhh Sugar Sugar is doing a Halloween Mystery Box this year, which is VERY exciting! This Halloween themed Box of Sugar is beautiful and sets the tone wonderfully for the rest of October.

Fright Night Bath Bomb and Melt: Chocolate, carmel, and cinnamon, Oh my! I smelled this warm, comforting scent through the wrapper and I cannot wait to see how it performs in the tub! I am not normally a chocolate scented bath person, but this is blended so beautifully, I think it might break that rule!

Antidote Hand Soap: I LOVE Ahhh Sugar Sugar hand soaps! This comes at a perfect time, because I just used up my last bottle from them. This glows in the dark! Ahhh Sugar Sugar has done glow in the dark products before, and they always work so well! This is scented in sweet pumpkin, marshmallow, and creamy vanilla latte. I pick up the pumpkin and latte, and a spicy note that I was not expecting! This is a beautiful scent and I am excited to use this!

I Put A Spell On You Whipped Meringue: This is a hodgepodge of scents! This is scented in bubblegum, banana runts, cotton candy, and lemon drops. This scent is not for me; I do not like banana scents. To my nose, I get the artificial scent of bubblegum and cotton candy with the banana coming through at the end. I bet a lot of people will enjoy this scent!

Pick Your Poison Bath Frosting: This is a beautiful white frosting with a red center! I am really loving that look. This is scented in coca cola, blood orange, and vanilla ice cream. This is a different scent for me. It smells almost like a sweet vanilla coca cola float. It is a very light fragrance with nothing overpowering. I cannot wait to see how this smells warmed in the shower!

Ahhh Sugar Sugar generously supplied a coupon code in each BOS! I mean, how cool is that? Their 2019 Holiday pre-order is going on right now, so use that code and get 10% off of your holiday order! I know I will! What did you think of this month’s BOS? What are you looking for from this year’s holiday collection? Thank you for being here and reading my delightful ramblings.

September Empties!

September went by so fast and I am happy to have a lot of good empties this month! I am moving through my stash and it feels really good to get good use out of my products. Anyone else feel accomplished and successful when they use up products within their stash?

Ahhh Sugar Sugar Son of a Nut-Cracker Sugar-Free Bath Frosting: Normally I am all about the regular Bath Frostings with scrubby sugar, but I very much enjoyed the Sugar-Free version. This smelled like sweet peppermint and was nice and cooling during the hot summer months of August and September. It would be nice to see a scent like this come back this winter.

Joico Body Luxe Conditioner: We go through a lot of conditioner in our house. I have curly hair down to my butt and my partner has thick hair with a dry scalp, so I buy conditioner by the liter! This was a good conditioner! It was thick enough to fully moisturize my hair and not leave it a frizzy mess. I would consider repurchasing this conditioner.

LUSH Tea Tree Toner Water: This is my holy grail toner. I use this every day to help keep my oil and acne at bay. Even if I use other toners and products throughout my skincare routine, I will always continue to use this product. This is also a great toner that can be used throughout the day to help refresh the skin.

Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Cleansing Oil: I very much enjoyed this cleansing oil! It broke down all my makeup and oil from the day to give my cleanser a chance to actually clean out my pores. This product did not dry out my skin, but left it feeling nourished. I did a full review on this product that you can find here. I would repurchase this product and I highly recommend you give this a shot.

Victoria’s Secret Tease Please Body Mist: I use to love this perfume, but as of late I have grown tired of it. I have been working through some of my older perfumes, and trying to move them out. This was a seasonal scent, so I could not repurchase this even if I wanted to, but this is not a scent I would repurchase.

The Dirty Goat Little White Tank Top Whipped Body Scrub: This was a different formula than I am used to; it was made with lava ash and was incredibly delicate, but still offered an amazing scrub. I very much enjoyed this cleansing scrub. The scent was a very delicate scent, but I think was a little overpowered by the base of this scrub.

Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask: I very much enjoyed this scrub! It was a great scrub for when my skin was acting up and I needed something to get deep into my pores. I would use this while in the shower, and it has now become my goal to be able to use all my masks in the shower.

Bliss Bump Attendant: This has become a holy grail product for me. If you wax or if you struggle with ingrown hairs, you need this. This has changed the game for me and I highly recommend giving this a try.

Ahhh Sugar Sugar Dream Big Body Mist and Linen Spray: I believe this was the first linen/body spray that Ahhh Sugar Sugar ever came out with! I very much enjoyed this spray and scent! I highly recommend their linen spray and I will continue to repurchase their items.

LUSH Santa’s Christmas Shower Cream: This was alright. It smells like Coca-Cola. I don’t particularly love that scent in bath and shower products. My partner used this up, and I don’t believe he particularly loved it either.

A solid month of empties all around! I am very happy with the products that I have used up and moved out. I am excited for the coming colder months to get some really good use out of my lotions and potions! What did you use up last month? Anything good? As always, thank you for reading my delightful ramblings.

The Dirty Goat: Practical Magic Seasonal Box

The Dirty Goat has made her first seasonal box! This is a Halloween, Practical Magic themed box that came with five products and a quote from the movie. I personally love the quote and it will be something that I put up in my office. The products that came in this box are beautiful and play into the Practical Magic theme well. All of these products and scents are new to me, which adds to the surprise and magic of the box.

Aunt Jet’s Bella Donna Bath and Body Oil: This oil can be used in the bath to add extra moisture to a long soak, or straight to the skin. This is scented in madagascar vanilla, cedarwood, musk, and lemon. This is a very warm musky scent with the cedarwood and musk leading. The vanilla helps give it a touch of sweetness and the lemon makes sure it does not get too musky. I think this would add such a special touch to a nice warm bath, and I cannot wait to get it in the tub.

All Hallows Eve Car Freshener: I really love this idea of having my favorite scents as car fresheners now. I think it is so great that The Dirty Goat is stepping into those spaces of “household” goods. This is scented in cinnamon buns, icing, and fresh vanilla bean. I love this! I am a big fan of cinnamon, and this is right up my ally. This will be hanging in my car all winter long!

Lavender Gates Room and Linen Spray: I have recently really gotten into room and linen sprays. They are such an easy way to freshen up a space and give it a little special touch! Lavender Gates is scented with lavender, vanilla, musk, and patchouli. This is a warm lavender scent with the lavender being an herbal lavender and not a sweet lavender. The musk adds to the lavender scent and the vanilla helps give some sweetness.

Jimmy Angelou Cologne Balm: I like to use solid fragrances when I am just doing things around the house or getting ready for bed. I use them like touch points to help ground and relax my mind. I could not find the scent notes for this on her website, but this scent smells slightly clean, herbal and not too musky. The balm is very soft, which helps with the ease of applying this. The scent is not very strong though, which is kinda a bummer.

Midnight Margaritas Lip Balm: Guys, I go through chapsticks like nobody’s business. I am stoked to have a huge lip balm to use and abuse, especially with the colder months coming up. This balm is very soft and moisturizing. I also could not find this one on her scent list, but to me, this smells like sweet, gummy lime candies. This scent reminds me of Calacus from LUSH. I enjoy this scent in this format, and it makes me want other scents in lip balm form.

Overall, I think this was a solid first box. It can be tough to create something like a seasonal box from scratch, especially with everyone’s thoughts and opinions on what it should or should not be. I like the scents and products that we received, and I am excited to try some of these new to me products. I cannot wait to break open that car freshener, and the lip balm has already been used! What did you think of this first box? Did you find any new favorites? As always, thank you for reading my delightful ramblings.

August Box of Sugar: Excuse me while I kiss the sky.

Whoa, late posting of the Ahhh Sugar Sugar Box of Sugar! We are at the end of September, but better late than never! Did this month just totally fly by anyone else? Every time I would look at a calendar, I was shocked! It is just going to keep going, friends. We are about to hit the holidays, hold on tight! Now back to this BOS. I love the theme for this box! I am an August baby, and something about August always makes me think of the night sky. Those summer nights that seem to stretch on and on, and the peacefulness of the summer sky. You just cannot compare. I am glad that someone else thought to pair August with the night sky/galaxy.

Dark Side of the Moon Bath Frosting: This is a beautiful frosting that is made up of blue, purple, and white that are all swirled together to give us that galaxy effect. It has this amazing black label on it, with a cut out of the moon and a black hole. It is one of a kind. It is scented in crisp air, fresh rain, mandarin, and bergamot. It smells like the moments after a big summer storm. Anyone else know that scent? It has a slightly sweeter note from the mandarian, but the fresh rain and crisp air really make a statement. It is beautiful.

Nova Silky Dry Oil: I have recently gotten into dry oils, and they are amazing! This product does not leave you oily or greasy, but moisturizes the skin and leaves you feeling nourished. The scent also stays with the skin nicely, which is kinda surprising for how light the oil is. This is scented in earl grey tea, apple blossom, and pink champagne. I REALLY enjoy this scent and would love to see it back in the future. You get the apple and pink champagne, but it never gets too sweet. As you smell it, you might feel it getting too sweet, but the earl grey keeps everything balanced.

StarGazer Solid Bubble Bath: I have come to love Ahhh Sugar Sugar’s bubble bars. They always smell amazing, and they create such soft water and bubbles. This is colored after the bath frosting, and it is beautiful. This is scented in blue raspberry slushie, and smells just like the sweet candy scent. It will be nice to use this in a bath cocktail.

Galaxy Bath Bomb: Again, we have the purple and blue marbling, but with a little pink in the bomb. This is scented in neroli, ylang-ylang, black tea, black pepper, and peppermint. On cold, I get the neroli and ylang-ylang. I am excited to see if the peppermint and black tea/pepper come out in the tub. As with the bubble bars, their bath bombs perform amazingly in the tub.

StarDust Biodegradable Bath Dust: This is a vial of silver fine glitter that looks a little like moon or star dust. This will be fun to play with in the tub, and is such a fun little extra in this box. We are also reminded how amazing Ahhh Sugar Sugar is to the environment and pets. A company I can stand behind.

I really loved this box, and the overall theme. Some of the scents in this box are ones that I would love to see again! It is also exciting that in just a few weeks I will be receiving the September box! Sometimes it is good to do things a little late! What did you think of this month’s Box of Sugar? As always, thank you for reading my delightful ramblings.
