June Box of Sugar: Tropic like it’s hot

Ahhh Sugar Sugar Box of Sugar is my favorite package to get every month! It is the perfect subscription box for anyone that loves bath and body products! You get four products every month, most of the time full-sized products, that are all curated for that month’s theme.

Twisted Boardwalk Whipped Meringue: Whipped Meringue’s are perfection! They are light and airy, with an intense level of moisture to keep your skin hydrated all day. Twisted Boardwalk has scent notes of yuzu, coconut, and strawberry daiquiri. This smells of a miami vice, but with a less sweet coconut scent, and sweet strawberry scent. It also has a slightly earthly note to it, which I am guessing is from the yuzu. Very excited to have this scent in my collection, it is perfect for summer!

Chasing Waterfalls Anywhere Spritzer: I love Anywhere Spritizers! I use them on my sheets, pillows, couches; anywhere that I feel I want to freshen up a room! Chasing Waterfalls has scent notes of cool water and juniper breeze. It is a nice clean, herbal scent that is just perfect for sheets and pillow cases. I cannot wait to break this out on a spring cleaning day to freshen up our bedroom!

Hot Guava Sparkling Shower Gel: Ahhh Sugar Sugar Shower Gels are amazing! They are super soft and luxurious feeling. Hot Guava smells of coconut, sweet vanilla, fresh guava, and pina colada. To my nose, I get a very very sweet, fruity, pina colada. I believe this was the most popular product/scent this month, and for good reason! It is absolutely stunning, with it’s neon peach color and gold biodegradable glitter and a fun tropical scent!

Vitamin Sea Premium Bath Bomb: I have been waiting for a bath bomb to show up again in a Box of Sugar, and man, was it worth the wait! This bath bomb is right up my ally too! I love all things citrus and fruity. This has scent notes of freshly peeled oranges, green apple, and fresh pear. It is one of the most vibrant bath bombs that I have ever seen and I am super excited to get it into the tub!

Iz Yew Mad Poolside Conditioning Spray: This is a new product from Ahhh Sugar Sugar and one that I am so excited to try! This is a leave-in hair conditioning spray to help soften and detangle after a long day in the hot sun or at the pool. I think this is genius! This has scent notes of pina colada and watermelon popsicle. This smells of sweet watermelon pina colada. I imagine this will be a light scent when sprayed on the hair. I can’t wait to see how this works and how the scent holds up in my hair.

This has been the perfect tropical theme Box of Sugar! Every month I am blown away by Ahhh Sugar Sugar, and I cannot ever imagine not wanting to continue with this subscription box! If you haven’t already, get your name on the waitlist for this box. You will not be disappointed!

June Empties!

Well, another month has come and gone. We are officially halfway through the year, and it feels good! I am happy with where my stash is at and the amount of products that I have used up so far! We are mostly unpacked here at our new apartment, and I have all of my bath stuff put away and lookin’ pretty 🙂 I am enjoying our new space and it feels good to make it a home. Now onto the empties!

Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioner: We buy these by the liter during the Ulta Liter Sale. This is my partners favorite shampoo and conditioner. He loves the way it makes his scalp tingly! I highly recommend this for anyone that is looking for a shampoo and conditioner to check this out. It really cleans the scalp and hair effectively without stripping the natural oils.

The Dirty Goat Probiotic Deodorant in Coven: The Dirty Goat makes the absolute best all-natural deodorant! She puts diatomaceous earth in her deodorant which pulls toxic metals out of your system. She also includes shea butter and probiotics to help nourish your skin. Coven is a warm, spicy scent that is perfect for winter. I will always recommend The Dirty Goat and any of her products, especially her deodorant!

Witch Baby Soap Candy Quartz Body Scrub: This was a lovely, sweet, bubblegum scent that was just delightful to use! It was a pink soft scrub that held pink iridescent shimmer and was so pretty to see on the skin! I love Witch Baby Soap scrubs! They are super moisturizing while also being a very effective scrub. I highly recommend giving any of her scrubs a try.

Shea Shea Bakery Lemon Pound Cake Body Butter: I enjoy Shea Shea Bakery Body Butter as a super moisturizing and nourishing hand cream. I do not enjoy this all over my skin. It is just too thick and moisturizing for my whole body. I will not be repurchasing this again, because I do not need to buy a product just to use it on my hands. The Lemon Pound Cake scent is amazing and I love anything lemon.

HASK Charcoal Purifying Dry Shampoo: I very much enjoyed this product and I felt like it worked well and lasted throughout the day. It smells very nice and sprays well. I always compare every Dry Shampoo to my tried and true favorite, NYM’s Dry Shampoo. I do not believe that this preformed better than NYM’s and it is more expensive. I might repurchase this if there is a sale again, because it was enjoyable to use and I did like it. What is your favorite Dry Shampoo?

The Dirty Goat Whipped Cleansing Scrub in Warhol: This has got to be one of my favorite scents that Erica has ever made! This watermelon lemonade scent is absolute perfection and smells perfectly of sweet watermelon and tart lemonade and is made for summer! Erica’s whipped cleansing scrubs are amazing! They are super thick and lather up while scrubbing away all the dead skin. I highly recommend and will continue to repurchase!

LUSH Shower Smoothie in Lush Lime: I order this from the Lush Kitchen about a year ago. The scent for this degraded fast. When I first got this product, it smelled of a sweet, tangy strawberry margarita. After a few months, it smelt of plastic and soap. My partner and I used it up, and enjoyed using it, but it did not have any amazing scent. It was very liquidy soap, that did not lather, and left a creamy moisturizing feel to the skin.

I did not have a huge month for empties, but that is to be expected with this whole move. I am sure in the coming months, I will have more empties as I get back into the swing of using my products again. I feel good with any amount of empties, as long as I feel good about the use and enjoyment I am getting out of my current rotation of products! What did everyone else use up this month? Did you guys have any favorite products in your empties this month?

Life Update: Moving States, New Jobs, Apartment Craziness

To say that the last few months have been a whirlwind would be an understatement. We have been living in a state of transition. The majority of our belongs have been in one state in our old apartment, and we have been living with family in a new state, starting new jobs and waiting for our new apartment to open up. We have finally gotten the keys to our new place, and have made our final move with all of our stuff, and we just happened to do it on the hottest day of the year!

We have been anticipating this move for several months now, and are very excited for this new beginning and all that it can bring! My fiance is starting graduate school and a new job, and I have taken a new management position at a different restaurant. A lot of new beginnings which is very exciting and scary all at the same time!

My fiance has been a total champ through this whole process. He is the most patient and hardworking man that I know, and I am so lucky that he is my partner in this crazy life. We have been very blessed by our family and friends through this whole process, helping whenever and wherever they can and I do not know we got so lucky to have such amazing people in our life.

I have many plans for this space, but have been inactive due to all this moving craziness. Our apartment is currently in boxes, and I am sitting in a Barnes and Noble typing this post because we do not yet have wifi. I am enjoying all of this transition, but I must say, it will be nice once we have more our stuff put away and feel a bit more comfortable in the new town.

I hope you enjoyed this small life update. We will be back to our regular programing with June Empties and June Box of Sugar posts coming next! Thank you for sticking around and I hope everyone’s summers have been amazing so far!
