December Empties!

It is almost the end of January, but we are talking about my December Empties today! The end of December and all of January always seems to go by in a blur, but at the same time super slowly. It’s weird, anyone else get this?

LUSH Kitchen Potion Lotion: I love Lush’s old body lotions, and this used to be one of my favorite scents by them! They don’t make this anymore, and this scent is hard to come by. If anyone knows of an indie vendor who makes a scent like this, let me know!

Ahhh Sugar Sugar Cake in a Jar: This is a new product from Ahhh Sugar Sugar, and one that I LOVE! It is so frothy and scrubby, plus this Birthday Suit scent is one of my favorites! I highly recommend this product and scent, and I will be repurchasing!

Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special Shampoo: This is my partner’s favorite shampoo, he just loves the way it makes his scalp tingle! I love tea tree, and I often use the essential oil throughout our home. I enjoy this shampoo, and we go through the liter together. It lathers well and leaves your hair feeling fresh. I recommend this, and I continue to repurchase.

Victoria’s Secret Incredible Perfume: I LOVE this perfume. It is one of my favorites, and I highly recommend this scent for anyone.

LUSH Snow Fairy Body Conditioner: I enjoy body conditioners, and I really love the Snow Fairy scent in this format. This provides an adequate moisture level and it is extremely convenient. I would repurchase this again.

Ahhh Sugar Sugar Zero Lucks Given Hand Sanitizer: I really enjoyed this! This is the first hand sanitizer Ahhh Sugar Sugar has made, I believe, and it is a good one! It does not dry my skin out, it smells like more than just alcohol, and I feel good about it being in my purse. I highly recommend, and I would repurchase another Hand Sanitizer from them again!

LUSH Kitchen Dear John Shower Gel: I did not think that I would enjoy this, but I really warmed up to this scent in the shower. My partner enjoyed this as well, which is always a win for me! It is a complex scent, and one that makes me crave the more woodsy scents again.

Short and sweet here today! I hope you all have a great MLK Day, and a good monday. As always, thank you for being here and reading my delightful ramblings.

November Box of Sugar: Pink is the New Red

Talk about a late posting for this Box of Sugar! This is such a cute theme, and even though the Sugar Shack crew is in the middle of a move, you cannot tell with the quality of their products or their creative ideas!

Baby It’s Cold Outside Sugar Scrub: I have been WAITING for a sugar scrub! I feel like their sugar scrubs used to be more popular and would show up more often in BOS, but I have not had a full sized one in months! I am very happy to have received this and I hope to see more of these in the future. This sugar scrub is scented in coconut, vanilla, citrus, snow, and balsam. This is very heavy on the coconut and smells like suntan lotion. I get hints of the citrus, snow and balsam underneath the heavy coconut, but for me the coconut is just too heavy.

All The Jingle Ladies Sugar Free Frosting: I am loving this cute mini bath frosting! I am happy to have a Sugar Free bath frosting again; they are a nice change from the regular bath frostings. This is scented in vanilla rose, cotton candy, and amber musk. I really love this scent, more than I thought I would. The musk is lightened by the vanilla rose and sweetened by the cotton candy.

Sugar Plum Fairy Spritz: These spritz are so fun to get in a BOS and they add such a special touch to your home! You get to bring the Ahhh Sugar Sugar fragrance out of the bath and into the rest of your home! This is scented in sugared berries, spiced eggnog, and frosted ginger. Right off the bat, I get the sugared berries and under that I can smell the spiciness of the ginger and creaminess of the eggnog.

Christmas Tea and Cakes Bath Bomb and Bubble Bar: This is such a cute bunch! I think this might be my next bath combo! This is scented in earl grey tea, lemon cake, and cinnamon cream cheese.

I hope you all enjoyed this past holiday season, and are heading into 2020 with renewed spirits! I know my holidays were filled with love and laughter, and I feel so blessed to be surrounded by the people in my life. I wish nothing but the best for all of you and this new year!

November Empties!

December really snuck up on me! I feel like November just started and then it was over and done with before I knew it. Anyone else feeling like the weeks are passing faster than normal? I have a normal roundup of empties this month, and I am very happy to be moving some older products out of my stash.

Not Your Mother’s Clean Freak Dry Shampoo: I have really cut back on my dry shampoo usage, but this is still my favorite! It soaks up my oils, and still allows me to style my hair. If you are looking for a dry shampoo, I highly recommend giving this a shot.

Ahhh Sugar Sugar Potpourri: This came in a BOS last year, and I have been waiting to use it for a special time. This is our first Christmas in our new house, so I brought this potpourri out this holiday season! It smells amazing and has really added a special touch to our home.

Tree Hut Brown Sugar Shea Sugar Scrub: This is a good solid scrub. It is very affordable and does the job. I really enjoy this scent. It is sweet and spicy with a hint of apple. I must say though, I miss my small business scrubs.

Ahhh Sugar Sugar Whipped Meringue in Holiday Cheer: If you have been following me for any length of time, than you know that I love Ahhh Sugar Sugar and their Whipped Meringues. I very much enjoyed this one! It was light, slightly fruity and with a hint of floral. I do not know that I would repurchase this scent again, but only because I love other scents more.

LUSH Kitchen Buttercream in Lemslip: I really used to enjoy these buttercreams, but after using other small businesses body washes/frosting, I did not love this as much. I love the lemon scent and this does leave you feeling clean, but I do not like that this does not lather the way that I want it to. I cannot purchase this again, but I would not if I could. I am glad to have finished an older product and to have moved it out of my stash.

Victoria’s Secret Bombshell Body Mist: As I said in my last empties, I am trying to work through my older perfumes and body mists. I have had this mini spray for several years and would use it when we went out of town. I enjoyed this scent, but I won’t be purchasing it again. I am happy to have used this up and moved it off my vanity.

Ahhh Sugar Sugar Whipped Meringue in Je T’AIME: This is my first time using this scent, and I expected it to be more than what it was. I did enjoy this scent, but I just expected it to be more. I would not be unhappy if I got this scent again, but I do enjoy other scents more.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Perfume: I LOVE this stuff. I have loved this scent for years, and I will continue to repurchase it. Do you guys have any ideas on how to repurpose the tops of these? They are beautiful and it seems a shame to just throw it away.

Ahhh Sugar Sugar Hangover Soak: This came in a BOS a few years ago and I thoroughly enjoyed using it. This smelled like lemon and lavender pound cake. I love these little things that come in the BOS. It is a nice change and it provides a pleasant experience throughout the use.

Overall, I am happy with what I used up and am excited to see what this month brings! Things have been crazy around here lately, so we shall see what the coming months will bring. I hope you all have an amazing Christmas and a Happy New Year spent with loved ones. Thank you so much for spending this year with me and reading my Delightful Ramblings.

October Box of Sugar: Falling leaves & pumpkins please!

This is a good ole’ Box of Sugar! I love all of the products in this box, plus the scents are all winners in my book! It is amazing that we regularly get to try new products, and it is always a treat to receive a bath bomb!

An Ode to Asheville: This scent is soooo good! I cannot get enough of it! This is scented in toasted marshmallows, crisp fir, smoldering woods, and rich vanilla. To my nose, I get the toasted marshmallows and vanilla at the front with the woods and fir below it all to make it not so sweet. This is a shimmering whipped meringue, so it adds a hint of sparkle that makes such a nice touch!

A Drive in the Fall Bath Bomb: This beautiful bath bomb has all the colors of the falling leaves. I cannot wait to see this in the water. This has scent notes of mountain air, rain, snow, and lemon. This is such a fresh scent, and perfect for the dream of this bath bomb.

Meet Me at the Orchard Body Batter: NEW PRODUCT ALERT! To my knowledge, this is a super scrubby, sudsy, moisturizing sugar scrub. I am very excited to try this and see how it compares to their coveted sugar scrub! This has scent notes of apple, cedar wood, cinnamon, peach, and pipe tobacco. This smells like fall in a jar! To my nose, I smell apples and sweet peach with cinnamon. The cedar wood and pipe tobacco softens everything out and makes it not so sweet.

Bless this Hot Mess Bath Frosting: I am very excited to grow my “travel size” bath frosting collection! They are so cute and perfect for traveling, gifting, or trying a new scent. This is scented in toasted pumpkin, green apple, marshmallow and brown sugar. I never used to be a fan of pumpkin scents, but the pumpkin blends that Ahhh Sugar Sugar continues to bring out has changed my mind! This smells like a baked fall pie. You get the tartness from the green apples, with the warmth from the pumpkin and marshmallow, and the sweetness of the brown sugar.

Overall, I am very satisfied with this month’s BOS and I am very excited to try the new Body Batter. It is boxes like this that make me excited for what is next with Ahhh Sugar Sugar. What did you think of this month’s BOS? Any scents or products you really love? As always, thank you for reading my delightful ramblings.

The Dirty Goat: 1975 Deep Conditioning Hair Mask

I love hair masks! I routinely use them in place of conditioner throughout the week and they work wonders for my hair. I have had my eye on The Dirty Goat’s hair mask for some time now, and rave review after rave review continued to peek my interest. I was lucky enough to pick one up off of a destash page for a discounted price so that I could give it a try. Man, does it hold up to all the rave or what!

This hair mask is thick and creamy, which is just what you want to see in a hair mask. It spreads easily throughout the hair to evenly coat all your strands. It rinses out well and does not leave your hair greasy, but silky smooth and tangle free. My hair becomes very difficult to work with once wet, which is why I love and use hair masks. This hair mask allows me to work a brush through my hair or even let it air dry without becoming a frizzy mess. This product is one that would easily help dry and damaged hair becomes more manageable and smooth, which is the dream.

The 1975 scent has scent notes of mandarin, casis, amber, pink jasmine, vanilla and tonka beans. To my nose, I pick up a woodsy amber scent that is elevated by the jasmine and vanilla. This is not a scent I would normally go for, but I really enjoy it in this format. It perfumes the hair nicely, but is not overpowering, so anything you put on afterwards will still shine.

I very much enjoyed this hair mask, and I can see now why everyone goes crazy for it. The one thing that would keep me from repurchasing this is the price. It is $20 for 5oz of product. I have hair down to my butt and I use a lot of conditioner. For me personally, I cannot justify this as a regular purchase. For others who maybe use hair masks as the treat they are and are not a savage with them like me, I could totally see this being more reasonable.

Have you tried this product? What other products would you like to see me review on here? Let me know in the comment section! As always, thank you for being here and reading my delightful ramblings.

The Dirty Goat Sulfate Free Shampoo and Body Wash

I have been very interested in trying some of The Dirty Goat hair care products for some time now, and I was lucky enough to receive one of her sulfate free Shampoo and Body Wash in a recent mystery bag. I have been using this product on and off for a few weeks, and wanted to share my thoughts and experiences on this product.

This is scented in Bad At Love, which is a new to me scent and one that I really enjoy. It has scent notes of white washed woods, citrus leaves, vetiver, and tonka beans. It is a woodsy almost musky scent that is lifted by the citrus and sweetness of the tonka. Erica makes this product in all types of scents though, so if this scent is not for you don’t fret!

My first reaction to this product is that it is very liquidy, almost surprisingly so. Most shampoos and body washes have a level of thickness to them that this product is missing. I am not sure if that is because it is sulfate free or if that is just the formulation of Erica’s recipe. Either way, it is not a deal breaker for me and the product, just an observation.

I struggled to run this shampoo through my hair. It is like the product did not want to move from the one spot that it was put on my head and so I felt like I had to use a lot of product to get it to move throughout my hair enough for it is cover the majority of my head. This shampoo did cleanse my hair well, and did not leave my hair feeling overly dry or tangly like other sulfate free shampoos do, but it just did not seem to want to move through my hair. It was an odd experience, and one that I do not remember experiencing before with other shampoos. This could totally be user error, and I would love any thoughts you have on this product or others like it.

I have not tried this as a body wash, but I imagine that it would work just fine! It gives a nice cleansing experience. It is my understanding that this product is typically used as a shampoo, and not as a body wash, which is why I went the route of shampoo first.

I think this was a great dip into The Dirty Goat’s hair care products, and I am excited to continue to explore what Erica and her brand has to offer. The next product I am very interested in trying her sea salt shampoo! Have you tried this shampoo? What do you think? Tell me all your thoughts in the comments below! Thank you for reading my delightful ramblings.

The Dirty Goat: Practical Magic Seasonal Box

The Dirty Goat has made her first seasonal box! This is a Halloween, Practical Magic themed box that came with five products and a quote from the movie. I personally love the quote and it will be something that I put up in my office. The products that came in this box are beautiful and play into the Practical Magic theme well. All of these products and scents are new to me, which adds to the surprise and magic of the box.

Aunt Jet’s Bella Donna Bath and Body Oil: This oil can be used in the bath to add extra moisture to a long soak, or straight to the skin. This is scented in madagascar vanilla, cedarwood, musk, and lemon. This is a very warm musky scent with the cedarwood and musk leading. The vanilla helps give it a touch of sweetness and the lemon makes sure it does not get too musky. I think this would add such a special touch to a nice warm bath, and I cannot wait to get it in the tub.

All Hallows Eve Car Freshener: I really love this idea of having my favorite scents as car fresheners now. I think it is so great that The Dirty Goat is stepping into those spaces of “household” goods. This is scented in cinnamon buns, icing, and fresh vanilla bean. I love this! I am a big fan of cinnamon, and this is right up my ally. This will be hanging in my car all winter long!

Lavender Gates Room and Linen Spray: I have recently really gotten into room and linen sprays. They are such an easy way to freshen up a space and give it a little special touch! Lavender Gates is scented with lavender, vanilla, musk, and patchouli. This is a warm lavender scent with the lavender being an herbal lavender and not a sweet lavender. The musk adds to the lavender scent and the vanilla helps give some sweetness.

Jimmy Angelou Cologne Balm: I like to use solid fragrances when I am just doing things around the house or getting ready for bed. I use them like touch points to help ground and relax my mind. I could not find the scent notes for this on her website, but this scent smells slightly clean, herbal and not too musky. The balm is very soft, which helps with the ease of applying this. The scent is not very strong though, which is kinda a bummer.

Midnight Margaritas Lip Balm: Guys, I go through chapsticks like nobody’s business. I am stoked to have a huge lip balm to use and abuse, especially with the colder months coming up. This balm is very soft and moisturizing. I also could not find this one on her scent list, but to me, this smells like sweet, gummy lime candies. This scent reminds me of Calacus from LUSH. I enjoy this scent in this format, and it makes me want other scents in lip balm form.

Overall, I think this was a solid first box. It can be tough to create something like a seasonal box from scratch, especially with everyone’s thoughts and opinions on what it should or should not be. I like the scents and products that we received, and I am excited to try some of these new to me products. I cannot wait to break open that car freshener, and the lip balm has already been used! What did you think of this first box? Did you find any new favorites? As always, thank you for reading my delightful ramblings.
