July Box of Sugar: Girl’s Trip

Can Ahhh Sugar Sugar do no wrong? This Box of Sugar is perfect and just screams summer fun! This idea is made even more perfect by all of the products in the travel bag being airline standard for flying! How ingenious is that! I am loving all the fun tropical scents, and I cannot wait to go on my next trip so I can take this cute little travel bag. Now just to find the time to plan that much needed vacation…

Tropi-Cali Clarifying Body Wash: Ahhh Sugar Sugar body washes are super moisturzing and lathers nicely in the shower. This is scented in sugared oranges, tropical flowers, and exotic star fruit. To my nose, this smells strongly of a sweet tropical fruit scent. The sugared oranges stand out in this, with the flower and star fruit grounding and added a subtle tropical note to the scent.

Girl’s Night Spritz: I love these mists! I use these to help freshen a room or add a nice touch to my bedsheets. This is scented in pomegranate, floral mist, and sultry amber. To my nose I get, a sweet, powdery amber scent. I really enjoy this! I cannot wait to use this in a room or on my pillowcase.

I AM Body Butter: Would this really be a Box of Sugar without a Whipped Meringue! This tube is in the perfect size to throw into a beach bag or purse. This whipped meringue is scented in lemon cookie, blackberry, and powdery vanilla musk. The lemon cookie is very strong in this blend.

Dream Big Solid Shampoo: I really enjoy shampoo bars, even though I don’t use them very often. Ahhh Sugar Sugar’s shampoo bars are extremely moisturizing which is needed for my dry hair. I love that this shampoo bar has a string connected to it, so you can hang it to dry between uses. That is perfect! This is scented in mandarin, orange blossom, white musk, and neroli. This is a very nice balanced orange scent, and I enjoy this scent in a shampoo bar.

I AM Bath Bomb: It is very nice to have a mini bath bomb in this box. I love these mini bombs to throw into the tub for a quick, easy bath. This is scented in the same scent as the above whipped meringue. The bath bomb picks up more of the blackberry scent, which is what I prefer.

Flossy Posse Bath Frosting: I love that we receive bath frostings regularly in BOS’s. I mean, I don’t even need to buy bath frostings anymore…. But that doesn’t stop me! This bath frosting is swirled in beautiful pastel colors and scented in rich vanilla cream, kaffir lime leaves, and sugared rose. To my nose, I smell sugared vanilla lime, with the rose as an undernote to help mellow and make it not too sweet. This is a beautiful bath frosting and I am excited to use it.

Let’s Party Travel Pop: This is a pop up of all the essentials you often forget at home! There are hair ties, Q-Tips, cotton swabs, floss, and bobby pins! This is such a thoughtful thing to include, and something that makes this subscription box stand out compared to others.

This box was simple and perfect in its simplicity. They have provided the perfect travel bag and all of the needed products. It inspires you to plan that summer trip, because it screams summer fun! I loved this idea and it was just what I needed for a midsummer pickup! What did you think of this month’s Box of Sugar? Did it give you all the summer vibes and make you want to plan that summer trip? Let me know in the comments!

June Box of Sugar: Summer Fling!

I am a summer baby! I love everything about it, and I just soak it all up while I can, at least until I can convince my partner to move further south or to an island 😉 Anyone else live for the summer? I get so excited for the summer bath products to start arriving, because it means that 1. Summer is here and 2. I get to enjoy all the amazing fruity, floral, intense, sweet summer scents!

This Box of Sugar reminds me of their old classic Boxes. It has old favorites, a few new products and all new scents. So basically, the perfect monthly subscription box. I am curious now though, do you guys have a favorite “type” of box? Do you love the all new boxes or do you like to see some classics thrown in as well?

Talk about a classic product! I MET YOU IN THE SUMMER Bath Frosting is the first product from this box. Can we just talk about how pretty this product is? The beautiful pastel colors swirled together with a darker floral label; I am here for it! This product is scented in sandalwood, white cedar, peaches, bergamot, and vanilla. The sandalwood and white cedar are very strong in this, with the peaches and vanilla rounding it out with some subtle sweetness. I think this smells like a man’s body wash, and I quite enjoy that! I am very curious to see how this scent warms up in the heat of the water!

(pre) Shaved Ice Pre-Shave Treatment is a new product in this box. This product was made to be used right before you shave to help exfoliate and nourish the area for the best shave. It has lemon juice and different salts in it to help exfoliate and brighten the skin and coconut oil and kokum butter to moisturize and nourish the skin. This product is scented with jasmine, watermelon, tropical mango mojito. This smells (almost) sickly sweet to my nose. The watermelon and tropical mango are front and center with the jasmine trying to help ground the scent a little. Not my favorite on cold sniff, but I think this will work nicely in the shower.

LET’S FLAMINGLE Whipped Meringue Body Butter is another classic from Ahhh Sugar Sugar and one I am sure many people are glad to get in their boxes! I know I love to have these on hand to throw into a bag or leave on a nightstand! They are perfect body butters because they are super moisturizing but don’t leave you feeling greasy, which is key in the summer! This is scented in pink champagne, lemon macaroons, and buttercream. To my nose, I smell the macaroons and buttercream with the pink champagne and a hint of lemon rounding out the sweet scents.

For the last new product, we received ALOE HA Sun Soothe. This is an oil and toner mist to help soothe irritated, dry, or sunburned skin. I am so excited for this product and cannot wait to use it! This just seems like such a good idea to me! This is scented in orange and hibiscus. I get a floral orange scent which is just delightful and delicate. I really enjoy this scent.

Overall, a nice classic Box of Sugar from Ahhh Sugar Sugar. I know which products I am most excited to use. What are some of your favorites? As always, thank you for being here and reading my delightful ramblings.

June Empties!

How is June over with already? The days just fly by, and there always seems to be more things that I want to do before the day is over. Anyone else have that feeling more and more these days? I hardly had any empties last month, so I was hoping for a lot more this month to help even things out. I do have more than the month before, but not as many as I was hoping for. Oh well, I continue to use and enjoy my products, and the empties will come as they come.

Bath Bake Love Vanilla Bean Bath Cream: This product surprised me! First of all, it lathered up like a dream! It created loads of bubbles and lather that washed while leaving you moisturized. It also smelled amazing! I would highly recommend checking out Bath Bake Love and all the amazing products they create. I will definitely be making another purchase from them soon. They can be found here:

May Box of Sugar: Thirty AF

Ahhh Sugar Sugar has really been expanding their horizons with different types of products than they have made before, but while still staying within their brand. It is very cool and exciting to see them expand their product line, while continuing to make their tried and true products that everyone knows and loves!

The April’s Box of Sugar focused on very natural and fresh products. This month’s box of sugar has all new items in it as well, all centered around pampering yourself! Traditionally, the May Box of Sugar is a birthday theme box because the founder of Ahhh Sugar Sugar, Haley, birthday is in May.

The first new product featured in this box is an invigorating scalp shampoo and scrub called Clarify This. I have been extremely interested in these types of products lately, but have not taken the plunge and tried them. Now I get to! So far, I have heard nothing but good things about this product, and I cannot wait to try it and see what it does for my scalp. I have very long hair, that can tend to go flat throughout the day, and I am curious to see if this product can help with that at all. The scent notes for this product have not been revealed to us yet, but it smells very similar to a scent from another indie vendor. To my nose, I smell lemon, blackberry and vanilla, and I am HERE for it!

Next up, Geode Bomb: a sea salt bath bomb! This bomb is lovely and simplicist, topped with a generous amount of sea salt. This has a very nice floral scent with a fruity touch. I am very excited to drop this in my new tub and relax!

Cake in a Jar, body and soap scrub, is a twist on two of their classic products. They took their infamous body frosting and layered it with their AH-mazing sugar scrub to make a fun new shower and bath treat! To top it all off, it is scented in Birthday Suit, how fitting! Birthday Suit has scent notes of fruit loops, birthday cake, jasmine, and clary sage. To my nose, I get the sweet bakery smell that is grounded by the clary sage and jasmine. I very much enjoy this scent, and I am glad to have it back in my collection!

Wake Your Face Up energizing facial moisturizer. This is a VERY new product that I was not expecting to see from Ahhh Sugar Sugar, but am so happy to see them step into this space. This moisturizer is said to have caffeine extract to help “wake up your face” (get it?) It also has lemon essential oil, beet root extract, and aloe vera gel, all of which are very good for brightening and moisturizing your skin. This smells like a lemon. Just a pure lemon scent, which I do not find overwhelming on my face at all. This does seem a little heavy on my skin, but I also have very oily skin and it is the middle of summer, so anything I put on my face seems heavy. I will continue to use this, and make a dedicated review later. What do you think of this product so far?

Cake Face Mask, a wet and dry customizable duo mask. Now that I think about it, I am surprised we have not seen a mask from Ahhh Sugar Sugar before! If we have, please correct me in the comment section down below! This mask has french green clay and kaolin clay separated from organic aloe vera gel. Them being separated allows you to make a fresh mask in the amount that you want anytime you would like to use this product. I enjoy clay masks as spot treatments and on my nose, and I cannot wait to use this! Again, I will do a dedicated review of this product at a later date.

I feel as though I say this in every Box of Sugar review, but I am blown away! Ahhh Sugar Sugar continues to step up their game and make amazing new products every month! I am telling you guys, Ahhh Sugar Sugar is makin’ some moves! Ya’ll better watch out! I am very excited to see where they go, and how they continue to incorporate the new products in with the old favorites. What do you guys think of this month’s Box of Sugar? What do you think of all that Ahhh Sugar Sugar has been doing lately?

Black Sugar Perfect Cleansing Oil

It has been a long time since I have been excited about a cleansing oil! I have tried A LOT of cleansing oils, high end and low, and this one has been the best I have tried lately! I got this off the Ulta website during a sale they had a few months ago. I try a new cleansing oil every few months, since I haven’t found one I love just yet. This one is definitely a game changer for me!

This is made by Skinfood which is a Korean (I believe?) brand that is sold off of the Ulta website. There whole brand and thought process is about using food in their beauty products to help detox and nourish the skin. Skinfood has other very popular products on the market right now, but I have not heard anyone talk about this cleansing oil yet.

The Black Sugar Perfect Cleansing Oil is made with pure black sugar that is unrefined, and still full of all of its natural vitamin and minerals. Sugar is a natural exfoliant and humectant, so as it exfoliates away the dead skin cells it is drawing moisture into the skin. This is an oil based cleanser that breaks down heavy makeup and grime from the day, and preps your skin to be cleansed with your facial cleanser.

This cleanser does not leave me feeling dry or feeling like I have a film left on my face. It breaks down all of my makeup and leaves my face feeling clean and refreshed. This is the first cleansing oil that I have tried that I actually believe has made a difference in my skin. My skin is clearer, brighter, and less textured since using this regularly.

This product comes with a nice pump that is very controlled, which is important when working with an oil. It has a beautifully soft, sweet lemon scent that is not overpowering, and adds a spa like feel to the experience. I would highly recommend this product, and this is something that I will be repurchasing in the future. Have you tried anything from Skinfood? What do you think?

April Box of Sugar: Farmhouse Fresh

This month’s Box of Sugar is WAY different than anything else Ahhh Sugar Sugar has put out. They went with a totally different theme and feel than what they normally do, and this is a nice change! For this month’s box, they went with a totally clean and natural look and feel, and it seems like there might be more to come with these types of products.

The Barn at Post Oak and Ahhh Sugar Sugar collabrated again to bring us an AMAZING Soy Wax Candle. I am so happy that Ahhh Sugar Sugar uses and promotes soy wax, because that is what I like to use in my own home. This candle is scented in lemon verbena, cedar, peppermint, vanilla sugar, and eucalyptus. You know what is crazy? You can smell all of those scents, and they blend together perfectly. On the top, you get the lemon, peppermint and eucalyptus, the vanilla sugar sweeten all those “harsher” scents with the cedar giving it all some depth. Ahhh Sugar Sugar was also super kind, and provided everyone with very elegant matches in a glass bottle.

Sea Salt and Vanilla Bean Bath Oil. Ahhh Sugar Sugar has put out some nice bath oils before, but this bath oil is simple and luxurious, at the same time. I am very excited to use this, and see how this warms up in the heat of the bath. This smells of sweet vanilla bean, that is mellowed by the oil and salt.

Body Soap. Ahhh Sugar Sugar puts out Bath Frostings and Sugar-Free Bath Frostings. This is just labeled as Body Soap, so I am curious to see if this is a whole new formula, or is the same formula as the Sugar-Free Bath Frostings. This is scented in apricot, bergamont, and mint. This smells of sweet apricot, with just a hint of sweet mint.

Body Scrub. I have missed Ahhh Sugar Sugar scrubs! I ran out a few months ago, and just haven’t restocked yet. This is scented in rosemary, blood orange, basil, and thyme. This smells of sweet blood orange and herbs. It is a very nice, clean scent and one that I feel would transfer well to other products.

Hand Soap. This is a gorgeous hand soap that is all peachy and iridescent. I am excited to see them do a hand soap that is not foaming. This product looks amazing and I am excited to see how this works! It is scented in lemon, mint, and grass. This smells of minty lemon, with grass as an anchor. It is a nice clean, spring scent.

April Empties!

This month was a slow month for empties! I feel like across the board, for a lot of people, this has been a long, slow month for empties and just in general! I wonder why that is?

Ahhh Sugar Sugar Shenanigans Whipped Meringue: I love Ahhh Sugar Sugar Whipped Meringues, but I much prefer them in a pot instead of the tube. This was a very nice scent of fresh apples. I don’t know that I would repurchase this scent, only because Ahhh Sugar Sugar offers so many other unique and amazing scents!

LUSH Tea Tree Toner Water: This is a holy grail item for me, and something that I constantly use in my skincare routine. This toner helps to keep my oils at bay and my skin clear.

The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil: This was an alright cleansing oil. It didn’t WOW me, but it also wasn’t terrible. It got most of my makeup off, but I don’t know that I would recommend it.

LUSH Aqua Marina: This is my holy grail face wash. It is super calming for my sensitive skin, doesn’t break me out, keeps my skin clear and oil free, and you get used to the scent. I would highly recommend and I continue to repurchase.

Shea Butter Vanilla Buttercream: This was a stocking stuffer from my grandparents. It was a nice moisturizer and fit easily in my purse.

Ahhh Sugar Sugar The Jessica Bath Frosting: It took me awhile to finish this bath frosting, and this is the first bath frosting I have finished in awhile. This was an amazing, unique, and complex scent. I would highly recommend it if you haven’t used this scent before, and I always recommend Ahhh Sugar Sugar Bath Frostings!

Nyakio Maracuja and Yangu Soothing Oil: I very much enjoyed this facial oil! This was a very soothing and calming facial oil. It moisturized my skin without leaving it oily or feeling heavy, and it did not break me out. This had a very calming and grounding scent that was not overpowering on the skin. I would highly recommend this facial oil.

How did you feel about the month of April and all that it brought or didn’t bring?
