May Box of Sugar: Happy Birthday, Uni-mer-cat!

It is that time of month again, Box of Sugar review time! This has been a much anticipated box for everyone that has been following along in the Facebook group! In this month’s box, we received 2 brand spankin’ new products along with the first ever soy wax candle to be featured in a box, and a regular line product. I am sad to say, I am pretty disappointed by this Box of Sugar though. I will explain why down below, so keep reading! If you loved this Box, I am so glad! All the reviews I have seen so far have all been positive, but everyone is different and allowed their own opinions. Now, onto the fun!

The first product is one of their new inventions; Fluff! This is their newest whipped soap scented in their very popular Yasss Hunny scent. I am not thrilled with this product, and it is mainly because of the packaging. I am so used to and spoiled by the frosted glass jars or even the plastic jars, that this plastic tub they gave us doesn’t jive well with me. This reminds me of a margarita salt container! The soap looks great, and I am sure it performs beautifully, but I cannot get over the packaging. The scent smells amazing, all orange, cake, and mallow. This is a popular scent for a reason! I get a strong scent of the soap through the fragrance though, so I am curious to see how that plays in the heat of the shower.

Fantasea Solid Bubble Bar is a beautifully crafted mermaid tail, that smells like coconut, fruit and musk. I cannot wait to get this in my bath and see how blue it makes my water! My mermaid tale came broken, but that is okay, I will be cutting it all up anyway!

We have another new product with Blueberry Yum Yum Lustre Custard. This is their famous custard recipe with lots of added shimmer to make this beautiful product! I love a good shimmer body lotion, and I do not feel like there are enough of these products on the market. Blueberry Yum Yum is supposed to smell like Blueberry donuts and coconut sprinkles. I smell sun tan lotion. I love the scent of Blueberry, and I am not a big fan of coconut. The scent may change over time though. We also got just a little baby 2 oz size. Most boxes in the past, I feel as if we have gotten at least 4 oz sizes.

Put on your Birthday Suit Soy Candle: This is a collaboration with the The Barn at Post Oak. I am so excited to receive a candle, and I love this scent! This smells of sweet birthday cake, with grounding sage to take the edge off. This is my favorite product from this month’s box! My unicorn did come not attached to my lid, but that is okay, I can hot glue it. I still have their Birthday Suit Bath Frosting from last years Box of Sugar!

Overall, I think that this box has amazing ideas and creations, they just weren’t really for me. With the packaging of the fluff and the size of the Lustre Custard, I do not feel like we got an amazing value for our dollar. The candle is amazing, as is the bubble bar, but they can’t carry the whole box. I love Ahhh Sugar Sugar, and continue to support and promote them on my pages, but this just wasn’t for me, and that is okay. I would love to hear your thoughts on this month’s Box of Sugar! Were you disappointed or blown away?

April Box of Sugar: Spring Clean your mind, body, & soul.

Man, oh man, did Ahhh Sugar Sugar throw us some new products this month! They are killing it with their product innovation! We also received 5 full-sized products again! Are we spoiled or what?

The first product is their most popular seller, their beloved bath frosting. Let’s Get Down, dawg Bath Frosting is a beautiful, delicate clean scent that smells of powdered laundry and citrus. This bath frosting is said to have scent notes of cucumber, melon, lemon balm, and vanilla cream musk. This smells exactly like their 7pm in Charleston Salt Scrub to my nose! You can’t go wrong with Ahhh Sugar Sugar’s Bath Frostings.

I am loving that Ahhh Sugar Sugar sneaks these perfume oils into our BOS! (You are) Pearfection Perfume oil smells like sweet pears. I am excited to see how this scent warms up on the skin with the added violet and sage to this scent.

Fresh to the Core Whipped Meringue is a delightful fruity scent that is perfect for spring and summer! This has scent notes of apple, melon, peach, and delicate white flower. I smell apple and melon with white flower underneath the fruit. This Whipped Meringue is in their new format with the squeeze tube instead of the pot.

These next two products are to be used as a set. We have Posh Lyfe Hand and Foot Scrub and Clean Slate Foot Mask. Posh Lyfe smells like lemon and lavender martini. It has sea salt to exfoliate and sweet almond oil and coconut oil to moisturize and soften. Clean Stale smells of lavender, orange, and cotton. It has french green clay to detox and clarify skin along with kaolin clay to soothe and soften.

I think Ahhh Sugar Sugar has the best subscription box on the market, and every month I am blown away by their innovation and creativity. If you haven’t already, get your name on their waiting list!

April Empties

I am amazed with the amount of empties that I have been using up these past few months! I am definitely not complaining, because I have a lot to get through, just surprised with how much I have been using!

Big Sexy Hair Dry Shampoo: I did not enjoy this product. It made my hair sticky and did not soak up the oils in my hair. It also smelled strongly of green apples. I will not be repurchasing this.

LUSH Kitchen Ponche Shower Gel: My partner used this up, and I am sad to this go! This was a LUSH Kitchen exclusive from two Christmases ago. I loved this smell, especially on my partner, and it reminds me of LUSH Christmases past.

Nо7 Beautiful Skin Quick Thinking Wipes: I enjoyed these wipes! They do not leave a residue on my face, and they get the majority of my makeup off. I do not know if I like them as much as my Simple face wipes, but they were not bad. I would repurchase them in the future.

L’ORÉAL Total Repair Damage-Erasing Balm: I love hair masks! They are so useful and necessary for my hair. This hair masks helps provide deep moisture for my hair, and allows me to extend the time in between haircuts. I have used this hair masks for years, and I highly recommend it.

Nature Made Vitamin C: I have used up my Vitamin C! I regularly take Vitamin C, D, and a Women’s multivitamin. This was a good Vitamin C, and I would recommend.

LUSH Kitchen Happy Blooming Body Lotion: I very much enjoy Lush Kitchen lotions. They are very light on the skin, fast absorbing, and super moisturizing. I very much enjoy the Happy Blooming scent, and I would repurchase if they ever make it again.

L’ORÉAL Ever Pure Shampoo and Conditioner: I received these from Influenster for the purpose of reviewing. I very much enjoyed these! They made my hair soft and smooth, and I could not stop using them! I highly recommend them.

Ahhh Sugar Sugar Whipped Meringue in Saturday A.M. Cartoons: I very much enjoyed this scent and I love Ahhh Sugar Sugar Whipped Meringues! I thought at first, this scent would be too sweet for me as a lotion, but I used this as a night cream and it was a very nice, soothing, sweet touch before bed.

LUSH Aqua Marina: I have spoken about this too many times! It is my holy grail face cleanser, and it works way to well for me to try anything else. Just try it, people!

Simple Micellar Cleansing Water: I very much enjoyed this! This took off any left over makeup without leaving a greasy feeling on my face. My one issue with this product was that it would burn my eyes at times. I would repurchase this product.

Ahhh Sugar Sugar Sugar Slushie in Grape Bubblegum: The more I use sugar slushies, the more I enjoy them! This scent is absolute perfection! I would repurchase anything in this scent!

Scoopable Tart Wax in Blueberry Buckle Cake: I really enjoy this scent! I love the scent of blueberries! I very much enjoy scoopable wax, but I will not repurchase this. I am trying to transition to soy-based wax only.

LUSH Eau Roma Water: I enjoy this Toner Water when my face is feeling extra dehydrated and sensitive. I keep a small bottle on hand for those times of need. It is super gentle and hydrating. You can even put this on after makeup and it does not disturb anything.

Jouer Conditioning Lip Treatment: I very much enjoyed this lip balm. It was very nourishing and hydrating. I would not repurchase though. I have drugstore lip treatments that work just as well.

LUSH Yummy Mummy Shower Cream: I enjoyed this shower cream, but it was not a favorite. This was from two Mother’s Days ago. This is a cult favorite for a lot of LUSH fans, and they did not bring it back this year.

Bodycology Blackberry Vanilla Body Spray: This smelled just like B&BW Black Raspberry Vanilla. I received this as a stocking stuffer from my Grandparents a few years ago. It was a nice body spray.

March Box of Sugar: Hop into Spring!

Did this Box of Sugar’s arrival take anyone else by surprise? March totally slipped by and I was shocked when this showed up at my house! I did not have any expectations on this Box of Sugar, so it is all a pleasant surprise! Also, FIVE full sized products!! I mean, can the Ahhh Sugar Sugar Shack Crew get any better!

Peep Show Sugar-Free Frosting: I have a few Sugar-Free frostings in my stash, but I have yet to use one. I love the original Bath Frostings, so I am sure I will love the Sugar-Free ones, just haven’t broken one out yet. Peep Show has scent notes of marshmallow peeps, sugar cookie, black raspberry, and pink sugar. I love this scent! It smells of pink sugar and black raspberry with a hint of sweetness at the end. I am very excited to get this in the shower!

Don’t Be So Vanilla Sugar Slushie: I do not love sugar slushies, I just cannot seem to get them to work the way I imagine them too. Although, the more I use them, the more I am slowly figuring them out. Don’t Be So Vanilla has scent notes of powdered vanilla musk, pink carnation, amber, and teakwood. You get hints of the pink carnation, amber, and wood with the powdered vanilla musk over it all. It is a very interesting scent and I get why it is the staff pick this month!

Dapper Little Bunny Sink Soap: I love a good hand soap! Can you really go wrong with a hand soap? This is a very nice delicate, clean scent and I cannot wait to break it out when Spring finally makes its appearance in Illinois! This cute little soap has scent notes of white tea, ginger, and plumeria.

Spill the Tea Solid Bubble Bath: I love bubbles! They are my favorite part of the bath. This is scented in moroccan mint tea, and I am super excited to pair this with a minty bath bomb! It is all pastel colors and silver glitter, which make it absolutely gorgeous!

Krispie Cottontail Bath Bomb Sprinkles: I have really started to love Bath Bomb Sprinkles! They are such an easy way to make a fun bathing experience, without having to put much thought into picking the right bath bomb and bubble bar to pair. This is scented in marshmallow rice krispie treats and juicy gummy bears. I cannot wait to get this into the bath and see the orange bath water with that sweet scent! The Sugar Shack Crew are also insanely creative, and even made this product to look like a carrot!

Overall, I think this is a great box, with something in it for everyone! I also cannot believe how lucky we all are with getting FIVE full-sized products and getting to lovingly partake in the Ahhh Sugar Sugar teams creative and inventive bath and shower fun.

Hint for April Theme: Spring Clean your mind, body & soul. Is anyone else super stoked for some clean, delicate, maybe even a little woodsy/herbally scented products!? I know I am!

7pm in Charleston Coconut Milk Salt Scrub

7pm In Charleston Coconut Milk Salt Scrub from Ahhh Sugar Sugar

I am not one that enjoys a salt scrub. They have always been too harsh without adding moisture and oil back into my skin, or not harsh enough yet still without the added moisture. I have always preferred sugar scrubs because I feel as though I can get a deep enough scrub and it moisturizes my skin in the process. If you gave me this product without the label, I would have assumed it was a sugar scrub! It offers a moderate to harsh level of exfoliation (that I prefer in my scrubs) and with the added coconut milk, it leaves a layer of oil on the skin that continues to moisturize even after you get out of the shower.

The scent is something that I believe anyone can get on board with. 7pm in Charleston has scent notes of sweet orange, lemon, macadamia nuts, sandalwood, and rosewood. It is not a strong or overwhelming scent. It is very light, and perfect for the warmer months. I know I will not be able to adequately describe this scent, but here we go! It is a clean scent, with an added layer of woodies depth. You can smell the citrus from the sweet orange and the lemon, but it is toned down and grounded by the sandalwood and rosewood. It has an added layer of sweetness from the coconut milk and coconut oil. It does not lean too far one way and it a very well-rounded fragrance.

This scrub is also just plain good for your skin. Because of the fat content in coconut milk and coconut oil, this scrub is a good moisturizer. Also the Vitamin C and Copper in the coconut milk help prevent saggy skin, wrinkles and age spots. The lemon juice and dead sea salt help to clarify and brighten the skin.

I thoroughly enjoyed this scrub and I will repurchase this product in the future! I think that Ahhh Sugar Sugar does some of the best scrubs and has some of the best scents. If you like a good harsh scrub, that still moisturizes your skin, you should definitely try out Ahhh Sugar Sugars’ scrubs.
